Fifi Lapin...

Have you seen this?

"The world's most famous bunny..." as quoted by Elle Magazine.

I like it... but am I really buying it for the design or just for the model rabbit illustrations? I've bought a LeSportsac bag edition of hers as my Baby bag for diapers... which I think is cute.

Anyway, check out the über chic, Fii Lapin

Sweet Dream or Beautiful Nightmare

Christian Lacroix --Born in France in the 1950s, graduated with a history of arts. He had such a love to sketch famous dresses and menswear from history. By the 1980s he secured a position at Hermès, as Guy Paulin's assistant and by 1987 Lacroix was confident enough to begin his own couture venture. Lacroix grew to become internationally renowned for his gothic couture style, eccentric, historical and extravagant designs. Fashion critics said the Lacroix moment had been the 1980s, and it was over after but he continued to design and now has never been more of a success than ever. He has extended his empire into fragrance, homeware: tableware, costumes for theatre, film and has won many awards down the line. His distinct style is very much embraced by the fashion world now. He is currently exhibiting his showcase in Singapore.

Elegance, special, unique, exquisite, sexy-- all these represent Joanna Mastroianni’s work of fashion art. If you’re needing to get inspiration on what sort of dresses to buy, wear or make, try Joanna Mastroianni ! I think I’ve just found a new favorite designer and even though I can’t afford to buy her pieces, I sure can enjoy looking at them online :)

Fashion pitt stop-- Ruby Smallbone

Ruby Smallbones --What a unique name with a unique spell on her apparels. Her 'out of the box' concept has been welcomed by the world with opened arms. Her Forte: Parallel lines, contrasting prints, luxurious simplicity. And what I love about it is how she plays with geometrics and presents it on her work with simple + bright contrasting colors.

She started out, graduating with a diploma of fashion and embarking on a very successful fashion career since 2005. To top it off in 2007 last yr, she was responsible for designing pieces for the staff of the famous bar/nightclub/palace in SYDNEY called ‘IVY’ and I have to say that got me even more excited about her because that’s Amanda’s & my fav place for a niteout in Sydney so far. It’s the place to be and for her to be the head designer for that place is a pretty cool thing! She has an online store too but prices are a bit on the expensive side as they are designer’s rates. Anyhow, check her out!

Frenchie Frenzy

Bonjour Paris!

Je'taime (I Love) Spencer & Rutherford's bags. They are so girlishly pretty and it's sweet candy floss pinks, sky blues, bedsheet white colours are patched into different forms & sizes of bags, luggages, wallets and many more. For this Spring/Summer season, their items have been inspired by touches of the beautiful and romantic city of Paris; tagging their bags with names like Aurora - Champs Elysee, Kylie - Eiffel Tower and Georgina - River Seine, you certainly can brace confidence & completeness walking along the streets of Paris, New York and any place which you call home.

Spencer & Rutherford started out in Sydney, moved on to Melbourne, Hong Kong, Berlin and now reaching the many other parts of the world where gals are having a piece of those sleek feminine bags. Even Princess Mary from Denmark has them HAHA! So go check them out and hopefully they will be your best travelling companions.

Vamp My Shoes!!!

Back during the nineties in Singapore, Mary-jane canvas shoes were the "IN-thing" for school girls... I was no exception. Just as I thought this trend was over and done with... I've found someone who has made it a comeback... but this time with a splash of colours! I cannot find words to describe how comfy and cute these shoes are... maybe "Quirky-licious" + "Awesome!"... or better described, as Singaporeans would say "damn Chio!"... (meaning Beautiful)

iVampshoes is the baby of Creative Whiz, Jessie Cheng. What started out as an idle hobby eventually evolved to become a Cult fashion among friends... since then this Cult FaZ has begun to spread infectiously! I'm proud to admit that I'm a victim of this craze, as they bring back memories of the good ol' days. Using various materials and textiles, all of them are painstakingly illustrated with love and patience.

I'm waiting to add my 2nd pair of iVampshoes to my collection. Hope you like them too!

XOXO,
Amanda

Sydney Fashion Week

Calling all Sydney Sider fashion freaks! The Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival 2008is underway!! We've heard that it may be just a big thing for Sydney as it is with the Olympics in Beijing! So remember to head down if you're up for it. Brace the cold but we're pretty sure that heat will be exploding from the runways with those hot sassy models in chic outfits, so it should not be such a worry.

Dressing your wound for fashion!

The bandage dress that gives aid to your fashion is back in scene from the 8Os with greater impact!

It was uncovered in 1989 and was as much a part of the epoch as Madonna or Backstreet Boys.

It recently walked the runways of New York and made a relaunch by the label Herve Leger's new designer,
Max Azria. They are the “it” fashion garment of the season, everyone’s going for it and it’s definitely one item on my list to have!

These scabbards-like frocks which sophisticatedly wraps around the body to fit each individual perfectly has earned its popularity with celebrities and supermodels who have all gone absolutely crazy for it! They have strapped the bodies of Victoria Beckham, Rihanna, and Mariah Carey etc…

Funnily, if you think about it, the concept did come from Egypt’s historical beings: ‘mummies’!!! They were the only ones to have been wrapped around with bandage cloth and look what our fashion experts have use that cultural existence to create something like the ‘bandage dress’ to be a hip, sassy fashion item on a female’s sculpture.

Our exceptional applause goes to the creators! Extraordinary!

Oriental Love...

Jayson Brunsdon had a vision to create elegant and modern quality clothing for the sophisticated woman.

His business began small, working from a confined space at home with only $10,000; Jayson's instincts about his products have been indisputable, taking inspiration from the lives and looks of great iconic women like Audrey Hepburn and his own mother, Dorothy Brunsdon. Jayson recently launched a boutique in Singapore. His latest season encompass elegantly chic dresses with modern oriental influences that are great for both day and night. We especially love the watercolour printed silk dress...

Brunsdon's Tips for Success
1) Believe in your self.
2) Think positively. If you dwell on the bad everything will be bad.
3) Stay focused on your desired outcome & give it everything you have.
4) Keep ownership of your direction
5) Make controlling your outcome a top priority
