A Season to Be Jolly...

Good stuff have been happening all around... to love ones, friends, family and me!

New homes for the new year, New Additions, New Beginnings... Wonderful!!!

As for me...

We've been really busy this time of the year. Mr M and I have moved into our new home, over this period of time a lot has been done to make our Love nest a more comfortable one. Renovating, Settling in, Christmas shopping, Baby Shower... We've also just set up our Christmas tree to make our Home a little more homely...

Now... We're just waiting... Cupcake is still baking inside.

Welcome to Sydney, Charcoal!!!

Since Mr M is having a nap...

I'll quickly share a pic of Charcoal...

We flew him in from Singapore to join the rest of us here...
The poor boy was depressed for a week, probably thinking we've abandoned him for good. But Chuggs have been so much happier after our first visit :)

He's been in Sydney for about 3 weeks now... 1 more to go in Quarantine!

Quick Updates...

I'm still out and about... Not gone from the face of the Earth.
Really busy with Baby prep and Home renovations...
The good news is! - We're moving in to our new Home soon! Yay!!!

I will get down to updating more, however time just isn't on my side.

Amanda

*Tick Tock Tick Tock...

There's a lot that's been happening here in my world... with so many things coming my way... I'm squeezed dry for time! Therefore the lack of post... :) But all for good causes and I'm Happy

First of all...
My Best Bud, Miss J is here to stay!!!

Helping Miss J settle in Sydney took quite a bit of my time. From house hunting to IKEA shopping and of course heading out and about... I loved every bit of it. As long as she's Happy - I'm Happy! I've truly had a great time. House hunting's good fun, Tiring... but reminds me of how Mr M and I went about for 1 year before finding a House to call Home... still a good experience. But what's even better is exploring all sorts of apartments with different living conditions... Geez! some were really HORRID! Tenants from Hell - Black stained carpets with shoe box living conditions... Ugh!

Then there's IKEA... first time ever have I been there - receiving a receipt of over a $1000 worth of goods. Lucky it ain't my bill... hehehe But spending mulla when you've got it is sure good retail therapy.

Anyway... just to sum it up... Here's Miss J with a taste of back home @ Mamak
She seems happy to me... and I hope she continues to love it here and maybe call it Home like I do now!

PS: Although she's given me permission to put up her pics before even seeing it... I thought I better hold it off and get her to give me her consent for it to be shown to the world. hehehe Love the expressions. Kawaii!

Miss J and her first Roti Prata or Roti Canai, some may call it...

He's got a new album out! :) Love Bublé...Ooo lala

Fifi Lapin...

Have you seen this?

"The world's most famous bunny..." as quoted by Elle Magazine.

I like it... but am I really buying it for the design or just for the model rabbit illustrations? I've bought a LeSportsac bag edition of hers as my Baby bag for diapers... which I think is cute.

Anyway, check out the über chic, Fii Lapin

Where the Wild Things Are...

I'm so looking forward to this movie... a children's classic! Wish it'd be out sooner... I'd have to wait till 3 Dec... awww :(

Here's Terrible Yellow Eyes... a collection of work inspired by the beloved classic, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.

Cheeming Boey - Foam Cup Artist...

With no paper available on hand... he found himself a trashed cup. That's how something small sparked into something great! What's even better - with styrofoam copping a bad rep for not being environmentally-friendly... he's actually turned it into art which people don't have to dispose of and keep on their display shelves... or whatever use they can think of.

Anyway I think its awesome... absolutely love the details; you obviously can see its not an easy 'canvas' to draw on with a sharpie and almost every work has to re-connect to where it first started off...

Boey also has a illustrated blog which I love to read... simple funny happenings in a daily life...

The day the sky turned Red...

Everywhere in Sydney yesterday, you turn you see red...
Scary but yet amazing...
The morning we woke up to see the sky like this through the blinds... I thought there was a fire of some sort happening outside...
we were amazed how we could even look at the sun directly without even squinting...

Could this be a sign from mother nature
that maybe Earth isn't doing so well... thanks to us??

Hello again!!!

I know...

This blog has been neglected alot due to quite a number of things... Good things though :)

New happenings, New found joys... all in one!

I must admit... My other reason for this slackness would be that I've been really bad at time managing too. Past months had been busy, but most of my free time were spent sleeping and just chilling out of course this leads back to the Good News! The main one...

I'm expecting! 24 weeks...

This is probably considered old news by now as I'm already at the end of my 2nd trimester, but still its the first time I'm announcing it on the blog! My husband, let's call him Mr. M and I are looking forward to this Christmas to see our little one! There's so much to tell and talk about... but I'll keep it short and just say that I've got it good so far and have had a really pleasant experience. Morning Sickness came upon me between week 10 and 14, but really really mild. All I had to do was to make sure I ate enough but not too much and that was it. Anyway, as I'm writing this blog... Bubbi inside of me is doing somersaults. Yes! I feel the little one... in fact I'm sure I felt the fluttering as early as 18 weeks. I know many says that's not possible... I still would like to believe it is and I'm sure of it.

Oh yea... the 'fluttering like butterflies in your tummy' as many describes the baby kicking to be... I prefer to describe it like having a little goldfish in your hand... and it squirming, wriggling and flipping around... Amazing!

Anyway... this marks my return to the blog again... More good things to come I'm sure of it!

Lastly... We've been told our Bubbi is a Litte Girl!

A quick pic of me... at 23 weeks.

xoxo,
Amanda

My obsession with food and 'food' shows

Latest Reality TV show: Master Chef Australia which is on 6 days a week except Saturday nights is currently smashing TV ratings. I have to say since the start of reality TV shows like:American Idol, So you think you can dance, Biggest Loser, Amazing Race began and had enjoyed success, viewers like myself were just waiting for something like Masterchef to surface. Food!! Glorious food!

The show simply gives individuals with no prior professional cooking experience, but have serious goals they want to fulfil be it being a chef, opening their own restaurant/cafe or owning a catering business an opportunity to get there.
Episodes are available on video on their website. You can browse recipes as well!

Hair (Head) can be one of the most interesting facets of the human body and one can style it in so many different ways: Perm, Colour, straighten, extensions, body curls, trim, cut... so on so forth. It's been a good 5 months since my last hairdo and i've started to think about changing my hairstyle again. I was browsing for some ideas/tips and came across these 'out of the box styles'!that aren't realistic to have but as pieces of 'hair-art', they are definately are nice to look at.

Thinking of Toni & Guy....

Sweet Dream or Beautiful Nightmare

Christian Lacroix --Born in France in the 1950s, graduated with a history of arts. He had such a love to sketch famous dresses and menswear from history. By the 1980s he secured a position at Hermès, as Guy Paulin's assistant and by 1987 Lacroix was confident enough to begin his own couture venture. Lacroix grew to become internationally renowned for his gothic couture style, eccentric, historical and extravagant designs. Fashion critics said the Lacroix moment had been the 1980s, and it was over after but he continued to design and now has never been more of a success than ever. He has extended his empire into fragrance, homeware: tableware, costumes for theatre, film and has won many awards down the line. His distinct style is very much embraced by the fashion world now. He is currently exhibiting his showcase in Singapore.

Dinner @ Mad Cow!

This post is up a a few days late... But if you're ever in Sydney... Mad Cow is one place to go have dinner and drinks with friends! We took up a March Special Promo from Merivale in bid to show off their 9 world class restaurants (one of which was Mad Cow) and exposing their Wonderful Naked Chefs! (Haha! Food and Naked Hairy Chefs?? What a Combi!) Food was yummily delightful! Ocean Trout served with Pancetta, caramelised onions, fennel and brown mushrooms! Mmmm... I didn't see no naked chefs but we had a wonderful waiter serving our table with a Really Distracting Moustache (*think Mr Pringles) hahaha Must have taken awhile to grow his lovely mow.
I'm not really one who would talk about food... or how Great it is... This is more of Fiona's department. So you can imagine for something like that to come out from me... Must be good! Honestly... the first thing that attracted me was the whole look and feel of the restaurant! My style!... Style? Food? Both!

Hope you had a Great Weekend!
Amanda
